Parish Groups

Women’s Guild

The Women’s Guild is the oldest of our parish organisations, founded in 1970 and still going strong! It meets each Thursday at 2.15pm in the Parish Room.

Guild of St Raphael

The Guild of St Raphael is an international organisation, which exists to promote a proper understanding of the Church’s ministry of healing. At St James the Great we boast the largest branch of the Guild in the world! The Guild meets at 7.30pm on the last Tuesday of each month for a celebration of the Eucharist with the laying-on of hands. More details about the Guild of St Raphael can be found on its website at

Mothers' Union

Our parish branch of the Mothers’ Union meets on the first Tuesday in the month. Meetings begin with a celebration of the Eucharist at 7.30pm. For more details about the work of the Mothers’ Union, visit its website at [www.themothersunion.org]

Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham

The Society of Our Lady of Walsingham exists to promote devotion to Our Lady under her title of Our Lady of Walsingham . Our parish Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham was established in October 2006. It meets usually on the 3rd Tuesday in the month at 7.30pm for a celebration of the Eucharist. This may be followed by a social or fundraising event. Members also meet together to celebrate the principal feasts of Our Lady and each year there is a parish pilgrimage to Walsingham. Tiddlers Group

Our Tiddlers Group meets each Wednesday afternoon, 1.30pm – 3.00pm, during school term time. Pre-school children, and all who have the care of them, are most welcome. For further details phone 01942 727956.
